Here’s what you should know if you want to be a JavaScript Developer at R/GA:
On any given day you might
-Lead the design of client side engineering solutions
-Hand code web-based applications, web pages, emails, and web-based mobile experiences
-Integrate code with technologies like Flash, Web Services, content management systems, etc.
-Optimize front-end application performance in collaboration with Visual Designers, Experience Designers and Software Engineers
-Write well-formed, unobtrusive JS with scalability and extensibility in mind
-Create new HTML schemes that integrate well with existing HTML.
-Design solid front-end architectures that integrate with other systems and technologies, and communicate solutions to the team
-Write standards compliant XHTML & CSS with thought given to accessibility and SEO
The Ideal Person
-Has experience using JS Frameworks (jQuery, MooTools, YUI, etc…)
-Has extensive hand coding experience and a practical understanding of Javascript, HTML5 and CSS
-Has a solid understanding of cross-browser/platform issues and code solutions
-Understands new web technologies and has a passion for front end development
-Has experience working with AJAX and API's to serve up dynamic and data-heavy content
-Has excellent debugging and problem solving skill
-Understands server-side scripting (PHP, .Net, Java, etc.)
You bring
-4+ years’ experience in a related role at an advertising agency
-Experience working with Visual and UX Designers
